Who can I invite to text?
You can invite any contact you've created a contact list for through our upload contacts feature.
You can invite any contact you’ve created a contact list for through our upload contacts feature so long as those contacts have consented to receive email updates through Harness.
Donors can provide email consent while becoming a contact/making a donation, by logging into there personal donor account, or when you add them using the bulk upload tool and provide a “yes” answer to the email consent column.
How can I invite donors to text?

How does this help me connect with my contacts?
Previously, you could only text existing donors who opted into text messaging when making a donation through Harness' fundraising pages. Text Message Invites allow you to be proactive by inviting everyone in the contact lists you've uploaded into Harness to opt into text messages. Bonus? By securing opt-in permission via email, Text Message Invites ensure your text messages are legally compliant while reaching donors invested in your cause.
How can I customize the email?
Our beta version is currently white-labeled to reflect your organization’s basic information such as your logo, colors and address. We plan to explore additional customizable elements in future releases.
Are there any best practices to uploading my contact lists?
We're glad you asked! We recommend -
Segmenting your contacts into separate CSV files/lists (ex: Board members, volunteers, event attendees, major donors, recurring donors) prior to uploading into Harness.
Ensuring your CSV list has all fields completed (First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Phone Number)
Ensuring your CSV list has consistent formatting throughout (ex: (123) 456-7891 x 123-456-7891)
What happens is someone replies to the text message invite email?
The response will be sent to the Reply-To Email address you have added to Settings > Organization in your Harness Dashboard. If no Reply-To Email address has been provided, then replies will be sent to the email address or the teammate who sent the text message invite email.
What Harness subscription plans can access this beta feature?
We've made this available to all Harness users on all plans.
Are there any analytics Harness offers in beta?
Our beta version currently doesn’t offer analytics, but we plan to explore and add analytics offerings in future releases.
