Email Overview
The Email area (found under Email in the left nav) is where you create and send branded emails to your supporters. Email home keeps everything organized with tabs for Sent, Scheduled, and your Designs & Templates, plus at-a-glance stats.
This article covers the new CRM & Email experience (your left navigation shows CRM and Email). If your left nav shows Contacts and no Email item, this feature isn't part of your account.
Start a New Email
You've got a few ways to begin:
From a Template — start with a ready-made, reusable layout.
From one of your Designs — pick up from an email you've already built and saved.
Import HTML — bring in your own HTML if you designed an email elsewhere. Email HTML is stricter than web HTML, so a file built for a website often imports with errors — read Importing your own HTML email first to prepare a file that imports cleanly.
The Drag-and-Drop Builder
Build your email by dragging in the blocks you need — no code required:
Text, Image, and Button
Divider, Box, and Social links
Multi-column layouts for side-by-side content
Tip: preview your email and send yourself a test before it goes to a segment — see Send a test email.
Good to Know
Personalization tags (like a donor's first name) aren't available in email yet — write your copy so it reads well for everyone.
Deleting or archiving old Designs & Templates isn't available yet, so give them clear names to stay organized.
A curated template gallery with search is on the way; for now, start from an existing design or import HTML.
FAQs
Q: Can I personalize emails with a donor's name?
A: Not in email yet — it works in texts. Write to your whole audience for now.
Q: What's the difference between a Template and a Design?
A: A Template is a reusable starting layout; a Design is an email you've built and saved to reuse or keep working on.
Q: Can I bring in my own HTML email?
A: Yes — choose Import HTML when starting a new email. Just note that email HTML is stricter than web HTML, so a file built for a website often imports with errors. Follow Importing your own HTML email to prepare a file that imports cleanly.
